First UU Church of Columbus, OH Director of Religious Education

First Unitarian Universalist Church of Columbus, Ohio is seeking a for our vibrant, active, and growing congregation!

About the position:

Full-time, with benefits
A settled position, to begin on or about July 20, 2008
Primary responsibilities include:
- Administering the Religious Education (RE) program for children and youth
- Recruiting and training volunteer teachers and youth advisors
- Working closely with the RE Council
- Supervising the RE Assistant and nursery/toddler caregivers
- Assisting the Adult Enrichment Program committee with adult RE programming
- Communicating with the congregation
- Representing RE interests in other church governance bodies
12-month salary commensurate with experience and qualifications

About the right candidate:

College degree in relevant field or comparable professional experience
Well-developed understanding of Unitarian Universalism, RE and related activities
Ability to plan, develop, organize, implement and evaluate activities
Experience working with diverse groups and individuals
Willingness and ability to promote the mission of First UU
Relational, problem-solving and communication skills
Adequate computer skills to complete the required tasks
