A program to strengthen the work of the district in supporting our congregations through financial contributions. You can donate easily and securely online
"There is no power greater than a community discovering what it cares about. Ask "What's possible?" not "What's wrong?" Keep asking." Margaret Wheatley
This year, support from Friends of the OMD made 'real' the dream of hiring a part-time Social Justice Coordinator in the Ohio-Meadville District. And later this winter, we will host a conference, Innovations in Social Justice Work and Outreach, for our congregations.
Friends also helped make possible the new 'Threshold Congregations' program that is energizing congregations throughout the district and region. (Please see www.cerguua.org/thresholdcong.html)
Thank you for your support!
In 2012, Friends donations will support outreach to the many small groups of Unitarian Universalists gathering in homes and community centers throughout the Ohio-Meadville District.
These small groups and gatherings are often far from the nearest UU congregation and networking with the larger UU community is difficult at best. Your donations will help assist these new potential congregations as they organize, evolve and move forward.
Your support as a Friend of the OMD will also enable our district and regional staff to create and develop new forms of lay leadership education offered online and by video to reach ever-increasing numbers of people who don't have the resources of time and money to physically attend training sessions. The OMD is facing increasingly difficult economic realities and your donation will enable us to maintain and increase these much- needed areas of congregational service.
"Let's hope that America is waking up to both the need and the rewards of being "in this together." Margaret Wheatley
The OMD Resource Development Team invites you to become a Friend of the OMD. We need to achieve our goal of $7000 to make this work possible. Your gift will positively impact our congregations in the Ohio-Meadville District and strengthen Unitarian Universalism in our region for years to come.
Please join us. Become a Friend of the OMD. Join to support these important initiatives and all of the other work of the Ohio-Meadville District.
If you would like to discuss your donation or have any questions about becoming a Friend, the Rev. Joan Van Becelaere, District Executive, would be happy to contact you.
Thank you! We are all in this together. And together, we can make it happen.
Blessings,
Rev. Joan Van Becelaere
