Bill & Susan Alcorn

Bill & Susan Alcorn began studying and attending mind/body health workshops over ten years ago, then expanded into a variety of personal growth courses at Omega Institute and with Caroline Myss. These led them into this new field called consciousness studies. In May, 2002 they attended their second International Conference on Science and Consciousness in Albuquerque. Bill is a retired industrial scientist with an ScD from MIT. Susan is a public relations manager with Tops Supermarkets. They are members of the First Unitarian Church in Shaker Heights.

Titles of programs/sermons and a brief statement of content on each:

Consciousness and Spirituality - The Western world has lived comfortably with a hard science view of reality for over 300 years, with one irritating anomaly – the nature of consciousness. This view is beginning to shift under the weight of evidence from many quarters. A few scientists and philosophers are proposing that consciousness is the principal reality, and the physical world of space, time and matter is a subset. We will outline elements of our evolving model of reality, including some experiences in the paranormal. One insight is that some teachings from the ancient wisdom traditions, discarded or ignored in the age of science, are appropriate to the modern age. We look forward to a reconciliation of science and religion in the emerging new paradigm, although it won't happen soon.
