Richard Bankert was a United Methodist minister from 1985-1993, serving churches in Grove City Pa and Noblestown Pa . He is a graduate of Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, M.Div. 1985. Richard also has served Presbyterian Churches in the Allegheny Valley area by filling in as pulpit supply from 1995-1997. In 1987 he also made two presentations to the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Morgantown, one on Ralph Waldo Emerson and one on Mark Twain.
Richard is also a 1980 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a BA in English Literature. He has written articles on religion and culture for the Pittsburgh Post Gazette and other publications. And he has edited a book on leadership , The Leadership Trapeze, Strategies For Leadership in Team Based Organizations. Richard has recently finished editing a poetry anthology and is writing a book on religion, literature and culture entitled,Second Burning. He has also been very active in administration of area food pantries and outreach to the elderly and shut-ins.
