Jennifer Bosveld is a widely publishing poet, founder and director of the UU Poets Cooperative/ national, and president of Pudding House Publications, the largest literary small press in America. She worked with her husband, Jim, to lead the Central Ohio UU Revival—a model event. She has received several Pushcart Nominations, the Pioneer Award from the National Association for Poetry Therapy, and an Ohio Arts Council Individual Artist Fellowship. She has published the anthologies:

• THE UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST POETS: A CONTEMPORARY AMERICAN SURVERY
• PRAYERS TO PROTEST: POEMS THAT CENTER & BLESS US
• FRESH WATER: POEMS FROM THE RIVERS, LAKES, AND STREAMS
• among other books. 

She has presented nationwide including All Souls Church in NYC, UU Church of Reconciliation/Tulsa, North Hills Pittsburgh, Athens Ohio, many services at 1st UU Columbus, several GA events, SUUSI, and scores of UU congregations. I tightly coordinate all the music, readings, and sermon and tend to use contemporary music including rock and folk that I bring with me. I like to pull in from 1-6 people from your congregation to do some of the readings or to play music if you have that capability in your congregation.

Titles of programs/sermons and a brief statement of content on each:

• You’re Never Outside The Village That it Takes - Sermon and all components of the service tightly coordinated. On yes-based parenting that involves the entire congregation and each person’s responsibility for the children. Uses components of Jen & Jim Bosveld’s Wonder Child adult RE program to be released in 2003.
• U2 UU - Intergenerational service includes rock music and the messages and personal anthems found there. Features the music of U2 and other. Involves 2 or 3 others from your congregation. If your music has only been out of the hymnal, you’re ignoring the passion of some members of your congregation.
• When You’re Haunted - We are bombarded with messages from parents, teachers, bosses and co-workers, friends, spouses and family regarding their expectations about us, our capabilities, what we can and can’t do, social expectations. We are haunted (complete with old tapes running in our heads) by early childhood memories, school events, family and work scenarios, church, you name it. What do we do with those hauntings, how do we move forward?
• Heroes, the Movies, and New World Myth - Ideas on the concept of hero, clips from movies, how movies have changed and how that might play out in social scenarios as well.

Accommodations:  I cannot use home hospitality on Saturday evening.  If more than 60 miles from my home I do need hotel/motel.

Availability:  I prefer to travel in: SPRING, SUMMER, FALL. I travel all over the United States. If I’m on tour the travel is not costly. I don’t travel on ice and snow.  I’m very booked up but very willing to compare our calendars.

Fee arrangements:  My usual rate is $1000.00/day; however, for UU churches I present for $150 plus hotel and book display/sales table after the service—with no expectations.
