These are the official minutes of the 2007 District Annual Meeting, held April 21, 2007. Written reports can be found in the Annual Report for 2006-07. This constitutes a quorum.
Meeting called order at 3:20 pm by President Donald Zeilman, who welcomed the assembly, thanked the District Assembly Planning Team, host church and volunteers and introduced the officers and the parliamentarian and read the board mission statement.
Appointment of tellers: Current board members and nominating committee members were appointed as tellers for the meeting.
Two proud moments from First Unitarian Church of Cleveland and Southwest UU Church were presented.
Adjustments to the Agenda: The revised agenda was presented. No other adjustments were made.
Secretary Beth Casebolt did Roll Call. APF and District Dues recognition for FY 05-06 was given during the roll.
Approval of the minutes: The minutes from 2006 were reviewed, there were no corrections presented.President’s Report (see written report in the annual report)
- Donald Zeilman thanked the search committee who found our new District Executive.
- No questions were asked.
- Phil Reed presented the new policy as adopted by the board on public witness and the district joining other organizations.
- There were several questions, which were answered by Phil Reed.
**Moved by Rev. Wayne Arnason that the 43rd District Assembly endorse the public witness policy as adopted by the OMD Board. Seconded. Motion passed.**
District Staff Reports (see written reports in the annual report)
- Rev. Chulak introduced the staff of the district and he announced that Mary Huffman will be retiring on December 31, 2007.
- Karen Lapidus introduced the youth and young adult consultants and she announced that Mary Schatzman will be leaving her position June 30, 2007.
Compensation Consultant Report and Recognition of Fair Compensation congregations (see written report in the annual report)
- New Fair Compensation Congregations are UU Fellowship of Wayne County, Wooster and the UU Church of South Hills, Pittsburgh.
- The charge of the Long Range Plan Committee is: To develop a long-range plan, which would actualize our vision of a transformational program district. This plan would meet our present needs and would help move the OMD to a new level of service and growth during the next five years.

**Jerry Knasel moved that the West Shore UU Church moves that the OMD bylaws be amended at the end of the 2007 Annual Meeting as printed in the packet handout with the correction that “Other who are entitled to vote” should be “Others who are entitled to vote”. Motion passed with a 2/3s vote as corrected.**
- Gerry Blomgren gave a description of the Annual Program Fund and what it supports.
- It was announced that $1087 was raised for the Evans Scholarship Fund at the opening worship.
- Mary Livengood gave her report.
- Mary Livengood presented the new budget. Questions were raised and answered.
**Rev. Carol Meyers moved that the proposed budget be accepted. Seconded by Pat Moyer. Motion passed.**
- Jane Dirks presented the slate of officers, trustees and the nominating committee. There were three additions to the printed slate, Joan Sabatino for a 2 year trustee position, Karen Zoller for the 3 year trustee position and Nicki Perfetti for Nominating Committee.
**Jane Dirks moved that we accept the slate of candidates as presented. Motion passed. Motion passed to elect this slate of candidates.**
The Out-going Officers, Trustees and Staff were recognized.
The new officers and trustees were installed.First Unitarian Church of Pittsburgh invited us to join them next year on April 4-5, 2008 for the District Assembly.
Meeting adjourned at 4:57 pm.
