Evenings at Summer Institute

Once again this year, each evening has events to delight the spirit of SI campers young and old.

Each evening's events are planned to engage, entertain and provide relaxation for SI campers of all ages. Concerts, a hymn sing, costume dress-up, picnic, world's largest peek game, and, of course, the traditional SI Talent Show. From 9 p.m., adults socialize, making music, playing games, making new friends. The gathering places are ideal for evening socializing, including the campus pub, which has all the ambiance of the traditional English pub, with, of course, pub beverages.

Bring your favorite board and card games to add to the ones we'll have. This year there will be a game room where games in progress can be left and returned to.

The After Supper Club
The After Supper Club for children will meet outside the dining area from 5:45 to 6:30 for supervised play. Creative fun for children while parents continue with their dinner conversations.

Night Lights
Once children are asleep, the Night Lights program allows parents to enjoy liquid refreshment and camaraderie, chat with friends over coffee, take an evening stroll, join a drumming circle, or dance the night away. Volunteers in each hallway provide a friendly presence in case a little one needs to be comforted. Parents must inform the Night Lighter where they can be found if necessary. It works for everyone: parents get five nights of baby-sitting, and the Night Lighters get a chance to read, talk to each other, or reflect on the day. The Summer Institute Faerie may be seen flitting throughout the campus radiating fairy dust wherever she goes.
