Young Adults (18 through 35) at Summer Institute
Join us in the morning or afternoon as we expand our com-munity of belonging by experiencing, stretching and growing together.
During the early afternoon workshop (1:30-3:00), our theme speaker, Alex Mead, will reflect on our talents: discovering them, thinking about them, honing them, showing them off, and how we our world, after SI. Young adults will examine how our thoughtful actions actually can flow back out into the world and make a positive change for future generations. Young adults are also invited to gather during morning workshop (10:30-12:00), when we will hang out, play cool games, and engage in daily creation. Try your hand at batik, tie-dye, screenprinting, stenciling, and the ever-popular make things out of wire! Bring white things to tie dye and clothes to customize. Each young adult will have, and be, a Secret Santa, too, so bring treats for those mailboxes.
Alex Mead is a UU young adult from St. Lawrence District. Creator of the Art Activists of Buffalo, New York, he is also the author and illustrator of four books, including his autobiography, How to Care About Humans; Invisible Fire: the Poems of Anna Walsh and Alex Mead; and two novels: Relations: McEmpire, and Relations: Smash Your TV and a new album of digital music, Ambient Light
