Volunteering at SI - Everyone Does It

Who?
All the cool people volunteer. To meet cool people, you need to volunteer, and, lucky you, if you are 11 or older, you too can be a part of the elite SI Volunteer Corp. Our entire community is supported and enriched by volunteers. We need you and your special gifts. So what do you want to do?

What?
You can be a night lighter. Simply sit in a hall reading or talking with a friend while the little onesare sleeping. What a cushy job! Or you can be a Youth Overnight Chaperone, perfect for insomniacs or people who want to learn more about the culture of today’s UU Youth. It’s on Friday night. We need people with muscles! You can use your strength to set up and breakdown Art Space or the Bookstore. You can assist on the Cafeteria Line or, if you are coming early, you can be a luggage handler. If you want to find out if the Hokey Pokey is really what it is all about, spend time playing with UU children. You can volunteer for the After Supper Club, Vespers Child Care, and Afternoon Nursery Child Care. We need kind, considerate, and caring people (in other words, UU’s) to assist individuals one on one. You can be a smiling usher at Morning Services or Evening Vespers, or you can help with registration on Sunday.. (These are good jobs for people who would prefer not to work with children.)

When?
You decide which two hours you are donating to the community. We have volunteer positions all throughout the day and the week.

Why?
Because we are all a part of this beloved community from which we receive and to which we give. We meet new people, experience new things, and stretch our horizons in wondrous ways.

How?
Chose your first, second and third choices from the list above and put the number on your registration form. Be specific . If you want to be a Night Lighter on Wednesday night or want to help set up Art Space on Sunday let us know on your registration form.
