Youth Program at Summer Institute

The Youth Program is for youth that have completed grades 6-12. Youth who have just completed 6th grade may opt to attend either the Children’s Program or the Youth Program. Youth program activities build social and individual skills, provide youth with opportunities for learning more about their beliefs/values, and encourage the formation of long lasting friendships.

This year junior and senior high youth will have different theme speakers. All youth will participate in the remainder of Youth Program activities, e.g., morning workshops, touch groups, Youth Vespers, etc., together. At SI, early afternoon and evening programming is intergenerational so that children, youth and adults have a chance to meet and mix.

See this year's SI BROCHURE for details on the JUNIOR AND SENIOR HIGH YOUTH SPEAKERS and additional details on the program for this year.

Young Adults (18 through 35) at Summer Institute

Join us in the mornings and afternoons as we build our community by experiencing, stretching and growing together. In 2001, four young adults attended SI. In 2005, the young adults tipped the Summer Institute scales and helped bring the attendance to over 500 for the first time in SI history.

After the 2006 bridging ceremony, there were 60 young adults present.

The Young Adult community is growing and expanding every year. In 2007 we will be concentrating on the legendary Bionic Ox. Don’t know what that is? You have to show up to find out.

Whether or not you catch breakfast and the SI theme speaker, wake up to a bionic bullhorn with the young adults at Open Horn Gallery for a daily informal brunch. Okay, maybe it’s just a pound of bagels and eighteen gallons of coffee. We will provide an IV for the coffee, and bagels may be consumed by osmosis.

Join us in the early afternoon workshop time for Deep Fun, with an added dash of touch groups.

Don’t forget! Monte Carlo Night: The Premiere Young Adult Sponsored Summer Institute Black Tie Affair. Bring your best dress, and be prepared to host the biggest party of SI 2007.

In addition to Monte Carlo Night, there will be several other activities scattered throughout the week. Join us for the Youth/Young Adult Mixer, young adult vespers, YA led community vespers, and random excessive merriment.
