The Unitarian Universalist Musician's Network is a professional organization in the UUA. This organization is committed to assisting congregations with developing a music program and supporting the musicians who work within the congregations in order to better connect those who need assistance with those who can help, a District Liaison program has been created. These liaisons are charged to network within the district with other musicians and to help promote a music visibility within their district. They are also available to assist congregation who are seeking musical information. You can visit the UUMN website at www.uua.org/uumn
Many congregations in our districts are trying to develop a music program but have limited funds or personnel. Many have questions about where to begin and how to find resources. With the new hymnal supplement, Singing the Journey, which was introduced at the General Assembly, June 2005, congregations now have a larger variety of musical resources. The new hymnal supplement has a website devoted to information about the hymnal that also has sound files of the songs so music leaders can learn them. You can find the site at www.uua.org/publications/singingjourney/index.shtml
